Bruce and Carol,
I have been a part of the John Matzinger group the past five years (hopefully for future years too) and wanted to get back to you. My son Paul and I have been happy with the service and attitude of you two and your staff. The fish has always been processed on time, neatly and in good sized packages. When I get home to Wisconsin my friends want samples of what I bring from BC. The past couple of years you have made the packages smaller than in the past and they are just right for our use. We appreciate your efforts and look forward to seeing you again next summer. Have a great winter.
Another question. Is it possible to ship smoked salmon to the US? What are some of the prices of the fish and shipping to send it to Wausau, Wisconsin? Thanks

Subject: Indian Candy
Hi Carol and Bruce,
Trust all is well. I’m guessing that the pace has picked up a little as you have moved into your ultra busy season. It always amazes me that even when you are running flat out with a zillion things going you still give us all excellent service and make us feel special.
We got back to Calgary after the June trip and are working our way through the Indian Candy. It is the middle of Stampede right now and I got together the other night with the guys for “a couple of pops” (as Don Cherry would say) and they all wanted me to tell you how great the Indian candy is. The product has always been terrific and we have never been unhappy but I have to add my agreement that I think this batch is the best we have ever had !!! Keep up the excellent work……..
My friend, Tom Pierce will be on his way up to fish with Corey at the end of July and will be coming around to see you. He was up a couple of years ago so you may recognize him and he will be carrying Grasshopper with him, Bruce.
Kathryn and I will be up in early August with our group including her two nephews. We will have both Corey’s boats for a few days and we are really looking forward to it.
Well, I hope the long hours are not taking too much of a toll. Look forward to seeing you both in a few weeks.

Great People and Great Salmon Processing!
For the past 10 years we have sent our fishing clients and friends with their catch to Hardy Buoys Smoked Fish. The feedback from them is that it is the best smoked salmon they have EVER had. We, as an all inclusive fishing charter, pack the lunches for our clients and include Hardy Buoys Smoked fish for them. The response as they try their Hardy Buoys Smoked Salmon on the water for lunch is "That's it, we're getting all of our fish taken in to Hardy Buoys." Our clients say they and their friends can't get enough of it. Hardy Buoys also does an amazing job of packaging the fish for transport and do everything in their power to get all of our clients fish processed in time for their departure even if that means staying late to get it done. The fish is commercially vacuum sealed and flash frozen. This process helps the fish last longer in your freezer......although it never lasts long as it tastes far too good. Not only do they do an amazing job on the fish, they are truly great people as well. You'll be hard-pressed to find anyone as friendly and genuine as Bruce and Carol. This is a business that goes above and beyond the norm to make your trip one to remember and enjoy for months and years to come. Thank you both, Bruce and Carol, and all your staff for the kindness and the wonderful job you do. FYI,
I just got back from a fishing trip to Winter Harbour (Qualicum Rivers Resort).
My crew of eight guys had all our fish processed at your facility. It was a great experience. The two women who helped us were fantastic. Hardy Buoys brought our trip "up a whole new level!"

SPORTS FISHERMAN'S NEEDS
To Whom It May Concern,
Since I started chartering in Port Hardy in 1998, Hardy Buoys Smoked Fish has been there catering to my guests and many other sport fisherman's needs. Since day one, they have given me prompt, professional courteous service which is needed after a long day's fishing. With all the packaging regulations these days, it is very convenient to be able to drop fish off at Hardy Buoys to get it custom processed to whatever sized portions with the option of having the skin off. Also, there is the option to have their fish smoked with a variety of flavours to choose from. Customers also appreciate the retail section of the business which is full of souvenirs, assorted seafoods and tourist oriented products. Many of my clients have formed relationships with Hardy Buoys and request their services year after year. Not only does the finished product look very presentable, it has a shelf life a couple of years which beats the old zip lock bags.
Another positive note on the custom processing is that the finished product takes up less space than a fish in the round which makes flying or other forms of transport much easier. Most customers do not care much about the extra cost of the processing because it is fair and results in such an excellent product. Hardy Buoys is ultimately my client's last stop before heading home and it eases my mind that they are leaving feeling satisfied, not only with their fishing trip but also with the care and packaging of their catch. Year after year, I receive compliments about the products and a job well done by the owners and staff of Hardy Buoys Smoked Fish Inc.

THANKS!
Many thanks for your willingness to arise very early to open up and get Woody and myself on our way by 6:00 am Monday. We made the 12:30 ferry for Horseshoe Bay, and our overnite stop just north of Seattle in good time. The fish was still frozen solid by the time we arrived home yesterday afternoon...even in the plus 90F heat! Thanks again for your help...it was beyond the call of duty.
We hope to see you again next year.
