Our Process

Hardy Buoys Smoked Fish Inc. is a federally registered and inspected plant, regularly visited by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. Our Registration Number is 0746.


Receiving the Fish

From the moment you drive into the parking lot, our staff will assist you to bring your fish in the building.
All incoming fish is documented for weight and species. Tags stay with the fish through the entire process,
and yes, you do get YOUR fish back.

Each fish is handled individually and with care.

Your specific instructions are documented and followed.

All instructions are transferred to waterproof tags that stay with your fish through the entire process.

Once in the processing room, care is taken to ensure that each order is kept separate.

The Facility

is federally registered and inspected regularly by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
We maintain a very strict policy for cleanliness and sanitary conditions.

We will make sure that your product is as fresh as the day it was caught.

Our commercial vacuum sealer will package 1000 lbs. per hour.

Our commercial vacuum bags are 4mm thick.


Having Part of Your Order Smoked?

Hardy Buoys provides you with a truly authentic smoked salmon product.
Our only ingredients are; your fish, sugar & salt for brine. Pure alder wood chips are used for smoking.
Absolutely no preservatives, chemicals or dyes are ever used.

Brined fish racked and ready for the smoker.

The packing of the smoked fish, takes place in a quality controlled environment.

Candied smoked salmon nuggets are ready for the wholesale market.

to accommodate large orders.


Final Details

We have salted shaved ice, gel packs, dry ice and styrofoam coolers with waxed shipping boxes in a variety of sizes to get you on your way. Our staff is always eager to help you pack your fish to ensure it maintains it's quality for the duration of your travels.






Travel

At Hardy Buoys, we will cater to your individual travel requirements. Our staff will ask you all the right questions to ensure that your fish is packed properly and securely. Making sure flight and time restrictions are all taken into consideration. We will even pack your fish into your own coolers.
